President & Chief Executive Officer, LEED AP
In his role as Herman Construction’s President, Lars provides strong leadership and strategic direction to the Herman team, and continues to be the driving force behind its success. Since the company’s inception in 2009, Lars has dramatically grown the construction company, working under challenging market conditions. He works closely with customers in the project planning stages for negotiations, budget development, business development, and customer relations. He has managed a variety construction projects across the United States and overseas, including, but not limited to, medical care facilities, structural stabilizations, HVAC replacements, health clinics, historical renovations, hangar repairs and systems optimization, LEED Platinum, and elevator renovations.
In 2017 Lars was named the California Small Business Person of the Year by the Small Business Administration (SBA) and was honored as the National Second Runner-Up. He is currently a member of several advisory boards, including the AGC National Small Business Council. As a graduate of the United States Naval Academy and as a veteran, he feels it's important to contribute his time and expert advice to other veterans in the community to support and drive their business growth and activities.

As a senior executive at Herman Construction, Steve brings years of construction experience and design-build expertise in a variety of markets. Under his leadership, the company has successfully secured many high-dollar value contracts within a multitude of sectors. He has played a key role in expanding our services across the United States, with a special focus on complex renovations of occupied healthcare facilities.
Steve’s project experience includes medical/dental offices and buildings, higher education buildings, parking structures, shopping centers and big box stores, office buildings, industrial/manufacturing plants, packaging automation, manufacturing process automation, cleanrooms, laboratories for pharmaceutical industries, research/electronic laboratories, car dealerships, warehouses, places of worship, daycare facilities, and restaurants.
